This 1996 Porsche 993 Carrera RS is an exceptionally well-preserved and fully documented example of Porsche’s last air-cooled RS model. The car was delivered new on February 1, 1996, by Porsche Yokohama for the Japanese market (country code C08).The car stayed in Japan for several years where it was serviced exclusively by authorized Porsche centers in Yokohama.
Unlike many imports its Japanese service history was meticulously transferred to its German service book when it was exported to Germany. The first service took place in mid-1996 at 2,213 km, and since then the car has been regularly serviced.
In 2015 the car was acquired by the renowned Porsche specialist and dealer Thomas J. Schmitz Sports Cars. Before being sold a comprehensive service was performed at an authorized Porsche center in Germany in December 2015, when the car had 26,355 km.
It was then sold in 2016 to a private German collector, who kept the car in exceptional condition.
During its time in Germany, the car was meticulously maintained and documented through five separate TÜV inspections. The first German TÜV inspection was recorded at 26,859 km in 2016, and the most recent was completed in 2024 at 27,904 km confirming the car has been used sparingly. Additionally, the car has undergone four professional evaluations by Classic-Analytics in Germany, where it has consistently received the highest possible rating (1). The inspection reports describe the car as being in "Absoluter Original Zustand" and with a "Lückenlose Historie" – meaning it is in absolute original condition with a complete and unbroken history.
The car has never been renovated or modified and remains entirely in its original factory specification. It retains its original color, original interior, and all correct components. It was ordered with the desirable Carrera RS Club Sport rear wing (option 471), enhancing both aerodynamics and aesthetics. Notably, it was also ordered without a radio (option 451), a typical weight-saving measure for RS models.
Unlike many other RS cars, which were often more stripped down this example does feature electric windows (option 651) making the interior more practical and aesthetically cleaner. In recent years, the car has been serviced by Schad Originale in Germany where each service and repair has been documented with invoices and photos stored on USB drives. A major service was performed in May 2023, ensuring that all mechanical components are in optimal condition.
The car is delivered complete with all original accessories, including service books from both Japan and Germany, two keys, and full documentation.
